National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) and Multi Commodity Exchange(MCX) were formed and became active exchanges for trading in commodities in 2003. That’s means, NCDEX and MCX operate just like the stock exchanges in India.
The main difference being that they deal in commodities rather than in stocks and equity indices.
Both the NCDEX and the MCX were regulated by the FMC (Forward Markets commission) till 2016.
